Official Super Metroid Thread

Arguably one of the best games of all time, so I figure it deserves a thread.

So uh...discuss Super Metroid here. If you do Speed Runs, you can talk about those, your best times and such, discuss your favorite music, you know, whatever.

I love practically all the music of Super Metroid, but a few of my absolute favorites would be Upper Crateria, the main theme (inaccurately labeled Samus's theme in Brawl), Lower Norfair, and Brinstar (Red + Green).

And I actually didn't get the game until earlier this year so I have only beaten it twice. My best time so far is... 3:52 with 60% items, I believe.

My best time is 0:00. And that's because I've never beaten the game!

Then again, I've only beaten like three games, ever.

Haha, yeah, it's a difficult game to get through.
Final Battle is, despite its epicness, not all that hard though. Surprisingly enough Ridley is harder. Actually, that seems to be true in Metroid Fusion too, so I guess it's not all that surprising.

Kraid is the easiest, he gets onwed by four super missiles.

I'd say Phantoon is the hardest since his fire is everywhere all the time.

Ugh, yeah, Phantoon is a pain to defeat. Draygon is so easy if you use that Grapple Beam tactic, which is the only one I've ever used on him. Although that one can be hard to pull off too because he's just so random in his movements and you can't tell where he's going, so you might let yourself get picked up and then you can't reach the place to Grapple.
