| Gotta love Pokemon, especially the first generation. Discuss the games (Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow) here.
The story of who I started with is actually kind of complicated... I initially started with Charmander, and did fine until I got to Misty where um...well, I didn't have a Pikachu and I didn't know that after the Golden Gate Bridge I could move on and catch an Oddish, so I had TONS of trouble with Misty and was unable to move further, so I restarted and started with Squirtle. I tried it out for a while and then I think I simply decided to try out all three, and I tested out Bulbasaur and really liked him so...I ended up completing the game for the first time with Bulbasaur.
But don't worry, I recently restarted my Blue Version (my main version was Red) and started with Charmander and when I got to Misty trained Charmeleon up until I could beat Misty with only Charmeleon, for revenge. It was pretty awesome.

| Lulz. I restarted my Blue recently as well, in light of the Mew Glitch. So now, I have a Mew and a Charmander. Ultimate team of pwnage. | |

| Which reminds me, I remember how every time I'd play through one of the games I'd die on my way off the S.S. Anne on purpose so it'd never leave. Not for any particular purpose once I figured out that Mew can't be gotten that way, but just to have it there. | |

I recently borrowed BV from a friend, so I've been meaning to restart. Haha, yeah. I got caught up in playing...some other game in the middle of going through it again (I believe I was on the S.S. Anne) so I should try and pick it up again. Especially since I want to get to Cinnabar and catch a MissingNo now that I know it's safe.

Yeah, of course! I couldn't live without mine. ...Well, Red/Blue at least. Yellow I could definitely live without. I'm thinking of importing the Green Version. Actually, I've been thinking about it for a while and I've just been too lazy to do it. Eh, I'll get around to it eventually.

| G/S/C cartridges are the only ones that you have to worry about. And even then, there's instructions somewhere on the internet on how to fix it (I remember somebody posting it on the SWF once. I'll look for it later).
R/B/Y cartridges don't have any problems with internal battery life.

Yeah, as Generator said, second generation is the only one you need concern yourself with. And if you have trouble with one of those, you can find a guide on replacing the battery (which I know from personal experience works) here. GREAT tha's REALLy comforting, I had the best team I ever had in Silver, one year later it was deleted. my poor poor poor quilava

| First one's the best, with only one and a half legendaries.
WHY ARE THEY CALLED LEGENDARIES IF THERE ARE SO ---- MANY OF THEM?

| Ugh. That's part of the reason why I hated Diamond and Pearl. Part of they way they were selling the game was 'LOOK AT ALL THESE UBER LEGENDARY POKEMON! I BET YOUR FRIENDS WILL BE JEALOUS IF YOU FIND THEM FIRST!'.
Then, all the little kids by D/P, and support a bad game.

Then, all the little kids by D/P, and support a bad game. Yeah. That and "100 new Pokemon!" But this D/P discussion is better left for the DS Forum. I'll create a thread there to continue the discussion.

Level 100 Charizard, no h4x. Heh, I'm so cheap. I have a whole team (and a little more) of lv 100s but they're all a result of the Missigno/M cheat. They're probably really bad. I didn't know about EVs back then.

There weren't? I thought they were. Bah, whatever. In any case, I cheaply leveled up to 100.

| I played my old Red version, seeing what I had accomplished, when I was like 10. Then I was like, "WOW!" I had all Lv. 100s, and I looked around for a gameshark. I couldn't find any so I must have did that by myself! Well, it looked like my starter was bulbasaur, and I caught a Pidgey, a Pikachu, a Rattata, and I traded something for a charizard, and I must have caught Mewtwo. I checked my pokedex, and saw that I caught almost all the pokemon! I had caught around 146. I started playing Pokemon Red again, and saw that the Elite 4 is WAYWAY harder than the Diamond/Pearl Elite 4. | |
